Big Basin

Went on quite the strenuous hike in Big Basin Redwoods State Park. It was supposed to be a day of painting but it was mostly hiking. The top image I did while being attacked by an army of misquotes and various other insects. The bottom image is the same image except that I went over it in Photoshop and cropped it. It was fun!!! As perusal comments are welcome!

Still Practicing...

Painted this in about 25min I had more fun with this image than the last. It still not at the level that I'd like to be at and that is just because I'm not constantly practicing. However what was great about this image was I really found a brush that I feel comfortable with, I know it is not the brush it is the artist blah blah blah! This just felt better than the hard round that I'm use to using. Any who, comments are always welcome.

More Practice!

These were roses that I got from the garden. I thought that they would be more of a challenge, and I was right. Not even close to done, but I gave myself a very small window of time to complete this one.

I just pulled a photo from this link ( and gave myself an hour to paint it. No color picking and no laying over, which explains why it looks so crude.
The goal here was to simplify the image in an hours time, while remaining true to the image. I failed, I tend to get lost in the piece and the details. There is always next time!
